Miata Engine Blows
Current Status
Right now, the car is in storage, and I’ve been working on setting up my storage unit to make things more efficient. I installed a battery from a solar system to power shop lights inside and added a diesel heater to help maintain warmth. The Miata itself is up on four 6-ton jack stands, and I’ve removed several components:
- Front bumper
- Front splitter
- Brake ducts
- Rear splitter
- Transmission
- PPF
- Driveshaft
Budget and Plans
At this point, my progress is largely dictated by my budget. If I just wanted to get the Miata back on the road, it looks like I’d be facing a $3,500 bill. However, since I already have an OS Giken LSD for the car, I’d like to install it, which adds another $210. Ideally, I’d also love to rebuild the front and rear suspension with new tuned coilovers, fresh bushings, and, most importantly, upgraded wheel hubs.
We’ll see how things progress, but for now, that’s where I’m at. Thanks for following along, and I’ll keep you all posted!
